Aren’t we the most beautiful things you’ve seen all weekend??  These are the pictures that were taken at the Canine Cocktail Party at Scoopy Poo’s Doghaus in Edina MN about six weeks ago.  There was a lady there named Sara Beth (Sara Beth Photography in St Paul MN) and she was taking pictures of all the little dogs. I think MY picture is the most beautiful picture of any dog ever taken anywhere in the history of the world! I am SO happy with it!  Mattie’s picture looks like she had at least one cocktail too many (even though only the humans were having cocktails) because she was just so happy that night and she was laughing so hard! Mom says she likes both pictures equally but I think she secretly likes MINE more! 

Oh, guess what … that rock-like critter that was crawling around by the lake a few weeks ago that scared me so much I needed an extra chicken stick just to calm down, turned out to be a silly turtle. I’m so glad I know what it really is so I don’t have to be afraid of it anymore … I read all about turtles in Wikipedia and they’re just really slow stoopid-looking critters and I know that a brave Doxie like me can outrun,outplay, outlast, and outwit one of those silly turtles anytime we want to so I think I’m ready to go on Doxie Survivor to show everyone that we can battle turtles all day long and come out the winner (or should I say, wiener … get it????) ..

I want to thank Lola and Lola’s mom, Mutchy, for giving me a wonderful birthday present. It’s a little blue turtle and I LOVE it! It’s soft and squeaky and I can carry it around all the time and I’m not even afraid of it one bit. So now my two favorite toys are the little turtle and my little funny bone … I got them both from Lola. Mom says she’s going to let Mutchy buy all my toys from now on since I like them a lot better than the toys my mom’s been bringing home … BOL!

Ok, mom’s having a cocktail so I’m pretty sure we should be having a chicken stick … I’m going to go tell her that right now! Feel free to spend as much time as you want looking at my beautiful picture … Peace, Love and Wiener Dogs to everyone!

Little BoBo and Me

This is the latest picture mom took of me … My friend Lola sent me another present … A little BoBo!  (Thank Lola for me, Mutchy) I really like the little BoBo but of course my silly mom had to take the picture of me when I was SO BUSY chewing my Dingo Bone that I wasn’t really paying much attention to little BoBo right at the very moment. PLUS she caught me in mid-gnaw so my mouth looks very stoopid. Mom laughs at me but I don’t think she should even have put this picture in my blark! One of these days I’m going to take a picture of mom when she looks stoopid (how about right now, mom … you look pretty stoopid right now I think with flat hair and no makeup and just flopped on the couch … BOL!) and I’m going to put the picture in HER blog so everybody and their dog can laugh at HER for a change!

A little good news: We’ve actually been able to get out for little walks now and then so the days are much more fun now when mom’s home. We’ve been spotting some silly squirrels off in the distance but we haven’t gotten close enough to even chase one yet, let alone catching it and tearing it apart! We did see one run up a tree that was very near us today but by the time we got there the silly squirrel was all the way up in the tree and I swear I could hear it laughing at us! I hate that! But we know where he’s living now so the next time we get out there, we’ll know just where to look for that silly squirrel!

Ok, we’re off to bed and chicken stick land … hurry up, mom. I don’t want you to spend any more time on this post when you’ve got that stoopid picture of me in it!  I’m going to need to bark again real soon and make mom put some nice pictures of me on the blark … I’m Kismet and I’m NOT amused!

Kismet & Bun Bun

Hi everybody! Can you even believe it? Mom took ANOTHER picture of me for my blark!  That’s two times in a row!  This is me with my new favorite toy, Bun Bun. I used to love ‘Roo best but he got so old and chewed up and he doesn’t even scream anymore when I bite his butt so he’s not nearly as much fun as he was when he was new. Bun Bun still screams really loud when I bite him just right. In this picture, I was pretending Bun Bun was my baby puppy and when mom was teasing me about taking my puppy away, I gave her “The Look”.  Mom usually gets the hint right away when I give her that special Doxie glare and leaves my Bun Bun alone!

Guess what else … It was 65 wonderful degrees today and mom took us out for a walk in the muddy mud after she got home from her icky job … that was so much fun! Mattie and I splashed through the mud puddles and ran around in the muddy wet grass … we ran around and sniffed everything in sight and somethings that weren’t in sight at all!  Sniffing the ground is just like reading the newspaper is to humans because we find out all the things that have been happening in our community during the winter!

We even saw some silly squirrels but they were too far away to chase. I scoped out their territory though so when it’s not so muddy, I’m going to make mom take us over there so I can catch one of those silly squirrels and tear it apart!

Mom showed me the new slide show Mutchy helped Lola make and it’s on Lola’s blog. I think it shows off Lola’s sassy side to perfection … everybody needs to go to Lola’s blog right now and watch the little slide show. It makes me proud to be a Doxie just like Lola!

Now I’m going to tell mom it’s time to go to bed because I want my chicken stick!

Mom and I have been playing “Throw the Stuffed Squeaky Hunny Bunny” for a long time this morning and finally mom stopped and told me it’s tme to bark in my blark again.  Where does the time go??  In fact, mom says I haven’t been doing very well in keeping my New Year’s resolution to bark more often … I guess I’m a lot like mom that way … she hasn’t been keeping her resolution not to eat this year either! … So there, Mom.  BOL!

Mattie and Pouncer and I are getting cabin fever I think because January was so cold and snowy. It’s almost nice today because the sun is shining and the snow is melting a little bit … Pouncer even wanted to go outside for awhile this morning and mom let her out … and then she forgot about her! I thought that was so funny … That silly cat was outside and mom had forgotten that she was out there in the snow! Pouncer finally came to the patio door and was looking really stupid (mom said she looked pathetic, but I think she just looked stupid) and mom rushed to the door and let her in and told her she was sorry she had left her outside so long. Pouncer didn’t really seem to mind and I don’t think she was really very cold at all. I think she would have come to the door a long time before she did if she was really cold … she just wanted mom to feel sorry for her. Cats are like that you know, very manipulative. Much unlike Doxies who never manipulate anything or anybody at all … I just simply deserve special treatment and mom understands that fully and is willing to provide all the little special amenities and favors for me without question.  It’s such a good life with my mom! Of course she does the same things for Mattie even though Mattie doesn’t seem to expect any special favors. Mattie is just very lucky she found a home that is owned by a Doxie so she gets all the privileges too …

Mom told me that tomorrow is Groundhog Day and I’m so excited! I’m pretty sure that means that I’ll get to catch a silly groundhog and tear it apart! It’s going to be such a good day for me I can’t wait to go to sleep and wake up tomorrow! I hope mom doesn’t have to go to that icky job tomorrow so she can take me outside to find a silly groundhog first thing in the morning … I’ll be sure to bark again tomorrow night and tell you how much fun I had with the silly groundhog and how I tore it apart! I hope Mutchy lets Lola catch a silly groundhog too … I know she wants to tear it apart too!

Mom was also telling me that tonight there is something going on called the Stupor Bowl I think she said. I guess it’s like the Kentucky Derby or the Breeders’ Cup of horse racing, only with football players. I guess it’s a big deal for people who are football fans but it doesn’t sound like there will be chicken sticks involved so I’m not very interested.

Ok, hope everyone has a great rest of the day and a fun night. I’m going to have to tell mom that I need a chicken stick now since I barked … Good luck to all my football friends and may both teams win!

Mom made me write that Title. I would have said something that made more sense but mom says ’tis the season to acknowledge that we have a new President. I guess we’re a few days late with this post since the inauguration was last Tuesday … but mom says the new President will be in office for the next four years so I guess we’re not too late to say “Welcome” to President Obama.

Mom says she’s glad the inauguration is over because someone needs to get back to the business of running the country … so far she’s a little concerned (she calls it “bewildered”) about some of the appointments the new President has made to his cabinet but she thinks the new Treasury Secretary will be very understanding when people make mistakes in their taxes or forget to pay their taxes. She says he didn’t pay $34,000 in taxes that were due a long time ago and he only paid them now because he wants to be Treasury Secretary so we shouldn’t have to worry about the IRS being mean to us now when we neglect to pay our taxes.  I don’t know anything about any of that except that if it means more money for chicken sticks, the new administration will be a good thing!

Guess what?? The other night Mattie almost caught a silly little rabbit in our patio! It was so exciting and she would have caught it and we could have torn it apart if that mean mom hadn’t grabbed her and made her come in the house just when she almost had the silly rabbit in her teeth! Mom didn’t even know there was a silly rabbit outside but Pouncer, Mattie, and I went running to the patio window because WE saw the silly rabbit … when mom opened the patio door to try to see what we were looking at … Mattie jumped out into the deep snow and began chasing that silly rabbit around and around. She was barking and I was barking and I wanted to go out and chase the silly rabbit too, but the snow was too deep for me … I hate snow! The silly rabbit couldn’t find a way out of the patio fence because of the deep snow so Mattie was just about to grab it in her mouth and I know she would have brought it into the house for me so we could tear it apart! But then mom ran out in the snow — with just her slippers, that was so funny! — and stopped Mattie from getting the silly rabbit! I couldn’t believe it! That was our ONE chance this whole winter to catch a silly rabbit and mom wouldn’t let us … I was SO MAD! Mom tried to explain to us that she doesn’t want to see any animal get hurt or die but it still didn’t make any sense to me … Doxies are supposed to catch little varmints and tear them apart! it’s like our JOB! The best part though — except for the part where mom ran out in the deep snow with just her little slippers on and her feet got really really cold and wet (THAT was the best part!) — was that Mattie and I each got a chicken stick to make us feel better about not getting to eat that silly rabbit.

That’s the most exciting thing that’s happened to us so far since it started to snow. I hope we’ll be able to get outside pretty soon and run around in the green grass and lay in the sunshine. This summer Mattie and I are going to find a way to catch a silly squirrel or a silly rabbit when mom isn’t watching! It’s going to be so much fun!

Right now it’s going to be fun to get a chicken stick! Bark at y’all soon.

Hey Mutchy, say hi to Lolers for us!

That’s mom’s new greeting to everybody so I thought I’d say it to everybody too … There’s just nothing better in the whole world than peace, love, and wiener dogs so it’s starting to make perfect sense to me now!

Everybody should have all the peace, love, and wiener dogs they could ever want in their lives! A few years ago, my mom wouldn’t have understood that part about wiener dogs at all since she’d never had a wiener dog in her life before so she didn’t even know how wondermus we are … since I rescued her though she figured it out and now she’ll never be without a wiener dog (me!) in her life ever again!

I told mom that I think it’s about time she puts a picture of me in my blark again. I don’t want anyone to ever forget how lovely I am and this picture shows off my profile to perfection.  If you look closely you can even see that I’m smiling a little bit because I am so happy to be living with my mom and never having to worry about being lost or cold or hungry ever again.  I remember being lost for a long time (about a week in human time – which is seven weeks in dog time — the puppy doctor said) so I’m grateful every day for a warm place to sleep (my mom’s bed) and lots of food and squeaky toys and my stepsister Mattie and even my alleged “cousin”, Pouncer. The thing I’m most greatful for though (besides my mom) are — you guessed it — CHICKEN STICKS! I just luv those chewy treats and just thinking about them now makes me want one … mom says she thinks I’m addicted to them whatever that means …

I think I’m going to tell mom I’m all done barking tonight so she gets off the computer and maybe she’ll realize it’s close enough to bedtime so that I can have a chicken stick now and then when we run up to the bedroom we’ll tell her we need another one! If she doesn’t give me one now, I know how to get an extra chicken stick just about every night because I just don’t go out when mom says we need to go out before bedtime, and then when I’m done with my chicken stick, I go to the bedroom door and whine a little bit so mom gets up to let me out to pee … then when I come in, I run to where the chickens sticks are and stand there wagging my tail until mom gets us “just one more” before we go to sleep. It’s so fun to have mom trained the way we need her to be!

Mom says I should tell Mutchy she’s sorry she didn’t like the movie “A Simple Plan”. I understand why Mutchy didn’t like it because it is full of snow and cold weather and movies with snow and cold weather are no fun to watch. I hope that movie didn’t scare Lola.  I like to watch movies of dogs running on a beach and playing in parks with green grass and sunshine … I wonder why mom doesn’t have more movies like that. There must be something wrong with her taste in movies!

I’m going to bark Good Night now and start working my way up the stairs to the bedroom. I hope all my friends stay warm and let’s all just think SPRING so soon we’ll have green grass and sunshine!

I can’t believe it but winter is STILL here! I thought mom said that after Christmas and after New Year’s Day it would be spring. I’m don’t know how I could have misunderstood! I’m so tired of being cold when I go outside and we don’t get to go out and look for silly squirrels and silly rabbits and it’s just no fun in the house all the time!

When mom comes home from that icky job at night and after we have our lunch, I have so much energy I just want to play all night long! I make mom throw all my sqeaky toys over and over and over and over and over again so I can run and get them and bring them back! I love to play fetch and I’m really good at it too! I think I’m so good I should be on the Olympic Fetching Team! Once in awhile even Mattie will want to play and then mom has to pull on the little rope Mattie likes to play with and she has to throw my sqeaky toys for me at the same time!  Mom’s not very coordinated sometimes so Mattie and I have to bark out loud because she’s so funny trying to do two things at once!

Mattie and I are really happy that’s it’s Thursday today so mom will be home with us for three whole days in a row! Mom says she’s disappointed that her favorite show isn’t on tonight so while she’s watching some really really stupid reality show, I reminded mom of OUR New Year’s resolution to bark in my blark regularly and she said that was a good idea … but … how could it NOT be a good idea because I’m a DOXIE and all my ideas are good ideas … except when they’re BRILLIANT ideas!

Guess what? I’m having a BRILLIANT idea right now!  Chicken stick time! I’m pretty sure I’ve got mom convinced that I need one right now! I’ll bark again soon but right now I’m going to prepare myself for my yummy chicken stick!

Hey Mutchy, mom said she wants to send you a greeting. “Peace, love, and wiener dogs!” I don’t know what that means but if it’s got wiener dogs in it, it’s got to be good!

FINALLY … mom told me that she’s ready to let everybody see the little video she and I made this weekend. I think it turned out really cool! I chose the pictures and the music and mom just set it all up for me. It’s really easy to do … and look how great it turned out!

Ok, I’m going to go chew on a chicken stick and make mom play my video for me again … Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!

That pretty much says it all … I’ve been getting cards from everywhere from my Dogs With Blogs friends! Mom can’t believe it!  She’s been sending out cards for me too … I help her as much as I can but mostly I just sit back and watch her working so hard for me and snicker … I  love seeing how many cards I’ve gotten (28 as of today) and how few (0!) she’s gotten … bark, bark, bark, I just have to BOL when I see all my cards on the wall! There are so many cute doggies in the world … some of them aren’t even Doxies if you can believe it! I would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for myself.

I was going to let Mattie bark in my blark tonight but I just had to blark about my Christmas cards. Maybe I’ll let Mattie bark tomorrow, she says she wants to bark a Merry Christmas greeting to everyone too … mom tells Mattie that MY cards are for her too so she doesn’t feel left out … so she must have gotten into the Christmas spirit.

Ok, I’m going to go count my cards again and make sure mom didn’t miss any … it would be just like her to make a mistake in counting. It’s just like the Minnesota Senatorial election … recounting and more recounting and they never get the same number twice! So maybe there just won’t be ANY Senator from Minnesota this time around since they can’t figure out who it should be … that just makes perfect sense to me!
