30 Oct 2008 Blarking Towards the Weekend!
 |  Category: blark  |  Tags: , , , ,  | 2 Comments

It’s Thursday! My favorite (well, next to Friday, Satuday, & Sunday) day of the week! Mom’s home tonight and she doesn’t have to go to that “icky job” tomorrow so we can flop around under the covers as long as we want to in the morning. I LOVE flopping around!

Mom said Mutchy gave her a movie to watch over the weekend. It’s called “Office Space” I think and Mutchy told mom that it’s a MUCH BETTER movie than “Very Bad Things.” Mom’s not sure that any movie could ever be funnier than “Very Bad Things” because it’s got lots of murder and killing and all kinds of blood and gore and mom says it’s the funniest movie EVER (next to “Borat”) and she doesn’t think “Office Space” has ANY of those really funny things like murder and stuff … so we’ll see how funny she thinks it is. I’m going to watch it with her so when I see Mutchy again I can tell her if we really liked it or not!

It was SO nice tonight when Mattie and I went for our walk with mom. There was a silly rabbit sitting right by the shed and when the silly rabbit saw Mattie and me, it just hopped right under the shed and hid! Mattie and I tried to get it out but it wouldn’t come out … I think that silly rabbit is just a big weenie. Not a wienie dog like me but a big cowardly weenie. It should have come out and let us grab it and tear it apart! I’m pretty sure Mattie and I will catch it tomorrow so by tomorrow night we’ll have a rabbit fur blanket! I can’t wait!

Mom’s yawning again so I suppose she wants me to stop blarking now … I think she’s just pulling my short little Doxie leg because that silly show she watches on Thursday nights is almost on and she wants me to stop so she can watch that silly show. Of course that just means I’ll get a chicken stick now so I guess I can be persuaded to stop!

Mom says I should tell Mutchy to have a good day at work on Friday because Mutchy says she reads my blark every day. So sic ‘em, Mutchy!  Mom also says to ask Mutchy if she’s sure we need a court order … (I don’t know what that means because mom is just so silly sometimes … )

I’m off to chicken stick heaven!

29 Oct 2008 Good News … Mutchy’s Back!
 |  Category: barks  |  Tags: , , , ,  | Leave a Comment

Mom told me some good news today. She said Mutchy was back at work after being sick for almost two days … mom asked her if she had gotten sick because of the movie, “Very Bad Things”, that mom let her borrow last week and she said no … but I’m not so sure. I watched that movie with mom and I think it could make you sick!

Mattie and I got to go for a nice little walk with mom after work and we got zoomified from the cool weather and all the rustling leaves that we could run through. We ran and ran and jumped in the leaves and mom let us be the “lead dogs” for awhile. When it’s time to go home, then mom turns into the lead dog and we have to follow her!

Mattie tried to get under the shed again to catch that silly rabbit but mom stopped her at usual. I just want to catch one silly squirrel or one silly rabbit and I know my life would be complete … it’s not fair that mom doesn’t let us run free and catch one of those silly varmints!

Mom’s already yawning and she’s telling me that I have wrap up this blark because she’s really tired tonight. That’s just so silly, how can she be sleepy? I think she just sleeps all day like we do so there’s no way she could be sleepy … but it DOES mean that we’ll get our chicken sticks pretty soon, so I guess I’ll let her be tired!

Blarks and out!

28 Oct 2008 Blarking In The Dark

Today was a really weird day. Mom left as usual this morning for that “icky job” but then she came home in the middle of the day! Mattie, Pouncer, and I were very excited to see her but we were confused as to why she was home so early. Mom took Mattie and me out for a nice little walk (Pouncer always goes out in the patio as soon as mom gets home and she just sits out there in the sun. She’s just so silly!) and we ran through the leaves and tried to find some silly squirrels and silly rabbits to chase but they must have all been sleeping today, because we didn’t see a one! We could still smell them on the ground and in the leaves but they were no where in sight!

After we had our walk mom came in and we all just laid on the couch and watched tv for a little while. Mom thinks she may have even taken a little nap because she told us she went to sleep with Judge David Young and woke up with Judge Joe Brown! That doesn’t make any sense to me.

Then mom put us back in jail and she went back to the “icky job”. She gave us a chicken stick of course before she left so we were ok but we were still confused. Mom said she had to go back for a “law clinic” whatever that means. So we were left alone again for a long tme and it was dark when mom got home. We were so happy to see her, we barked and barked and ran around in circles when she let us out of jail!

Mom told me that Mutchy wasn’t at work again today and “Murie” told mom that she thinks Mutchy is still distraught over that movie “Very Bad Things” that mom loaned her and she hated. Mom said she felt bad about that and didn’t mean for very bad things to happen to Mutchy just because she watched “Very Bad Things.” But then mom got over it.

Ok, that’s it for my blark tonight. I can smell a chicken stick in my near future!

27 Oct 2008 Blog + Bark = Blark
 |  Category: blark  |  Tags: , ,  | Leave a Comment

Hey there barkees — or should I say “blarkees” … I have to tell you about this new word mom learned today. BLARK!  While she was at work today she went someplace she calls “contempt court” and she was telling a county attorney (I don’t know what that means but it sounds really important so I’m putting it in my blog bark) about my blog bark. He said that a blog bark is a blark. Mom loved that word and asked if she could use it and he said she could so mom told me that from now on I should call my blog bark a blark. So blark it is! I love that word as much as mom does because it’s easier for me to bark one word rather than two words.

So this site will probably be the first blark in the world! That is so exciting! I have my very own site and my very own word for my site … I’m the luckiest (and of course the smartest) Doxie in the whole world!

Mom told me another story about her day at the “icky job.” She told me that she had loaned a movie to Mutchy, Lola’s mom, for her to watch this weekend. The movie is called “Very Bad Things” and mom thinks it’s the funniest movie she’s ever seen (besides some other movie she called “Borat”) and she thought Mutchy would think it was funny too. Mom says the movie is a really dark comedy — whatever that means — and people in the movie are just being murdered and killed and mutilated in every manner imaginable and mom thinks that is so funny! Anyway, Mutchy watched it and she thought it was the worst movie she had ever seen! Mom was really surprised that anyone could think that a really funny movie filled with nonstop violence wasn’t a good movie but Mutchy said she was so disturbed and upset after watching the movie that she even snapped at Lola’s dad! (At least Mutchy didn’t snap at Lola, that would have been really terrible!) Mom felt bad about that for awhile but then she got over it. In fact, she even gave the movie to her supervisor and told her to watch it because it is SO funny!

In the afternoon, mom said she went by Mutchy’s desk and Mutchy was gone. Someone mom calls “Murie” told her that Mutchy had gone home early, so mom is pretty sure it was because of that bad movie, so she felt bad again for a little while … but then she got over it again.

That’s it for my blark (isn’t that just the best word in the history of the world?) and it’s time for my chicken stick (can I start calling that a “sticken”? … maybe not. I’ll have to ask mom for her opinion … )

Stay tuned for more blarks!

26 Oct 2008 BRRRRRRR
 |  Category: barks  |  Tags: , , ,  | 3 Comments

This is going to be a BRRRRR bark … my tummy just got cold from being so close to the cold ground when I was outside. I don’t like cold! There’s no silly squirrels or silly rabbits to chase and I just know I would have caught one today if I had seen one! I’m pretty sure I’ll catch one tomorrow if we get to go outside … I’m just going to lay on mom’s bed all day tomorrow while she’s at that “icky job” and plan how to catch a silly squirrel.

Mattie and I were so happy this weekend that we didn’t have to help clean the house! Mom was just being silly when she said that she was going to tie little rags to our little feet and we were going to have to dust the floor. We took a lot of walks on Friday and Saturday but it was so cold and rainy today that we stayed inside all day … I wish I could have taken a little walk but I don’t like getting wet so I guess it’s okay that we stayed in the house. Mom was watching a bunch of big horse races on tv this weekend … she said it was Breeders’ Cup weekend which I guess is like the Super Bowl or World Series of horse racing. She was surprised that some silly horse named “Curlin” didn’t win his race but then she decided that since all the horses still had all their legs and they were all still breathing, it was still a good weekend of racing.

Mom told me about a special book Mutchy made about Lola. She said it’s really a nice little book all full of lots of pictures of Lola. I asked mom why she hasn’t made a nice book like that about me and she promised me that she’ll do that soon. I hope she does because I don’t ever want to think that Mutchy loves Lola more than mom loves me! That just could never be true! After all, I rescued mom when I found her and decided that I was going to live with her forever … and even though she didn’t realize it as quickly as I did, I know she loves me a lot now! I’m going to make sure that mom really does make a nice little book about me … since I’m in charge of the house, I know just how to make mom do what I want!

Right now, I’m going to make her give me a chicken stick … bark at ya later!

23 Oct 2008 Thanks Lola
 |  Category: barks  |  Tags: , , ,  | Leave a Comment

Thanks again for barking at me — I’ve already commented on your comment on yesterday’s post — and I really hope we can get together to play “FIND ME!” sometime. I’m sure it’s a lot of fun … I have to admit sometimes I’d like to be running around and playing when mom tells me it’s time to bark in my blog!

Mom was telling me today about Lola’s cousin, I think she said her name is Tilly. Tilly is a Doxie too so I”m pretty sure she’ll want to do a blog bark! Mom said Mutchy told her that Tilly wants to come and live with me. I’d like that! We’d all get to sleep with mom in the bed under the warm covers. That’s the best place to sleep and all Doxies should be able to sleep with their moms in their bed!

Mom says she’s going to be home all day tomorrow and she’s going to turn into Becky Homecky so she says Mattie, Pouncer, and I have to help her clean the house! She told us that if we can walk around on the floor, we can dust. So I think she’s going to put little rags on all our little feet and make us walk around and dust the floor. I hope she was just teasing us! I don’t want to do any housework! I hate it when she takes out the broom and mop and worst of all is the vacuum cleaner … I have to run around and find ‘roo and grab her up off the floor and jump on the couch with her so she doesn’t get vacuumed up! I’m going to have to be sure I just snuggle up with mom under the covers tomorrow morning so she doesn’t get up and do anything silly like cleaning! All I’m going to let mom do tomorrow is get up to get me chicken sticks!

I have to stop barking now. That silly show mom watches on Thursday night is on so mom won’t be listening to me anymore. I’m almost ready for bed anyway and I’m certainly ready for a chicken stick!

Barks to all!

22 Oct 2008 Recanting My Rant
 |  Category: barks  |  Tags: ,  | 2 Comments

When mom came home tonight she told me that we have to have “the talk”. I didn’t know what she meant, even though I’m arguably the smartest dog in the world, so she sat down on the couch and put me on her lap and explained that once again I need to bark an apology. I wasn’t very happy to hear that because Doxies are hardly ever wrong and it certainly can’t happen twice in one week!

She said that Mutchy had read last night’s blog and she doesn’t agree with my opinion that my mom loves me more than she loves Lola … I only said that because (as Mutchy says) Lola doesn’t “want” to have a blog and I think it was because Mutchy didn’t want to help her with it … well, mom says that Mutchy explained to her, and asked her to pass it along to me, that while mom and I were doing this blog last night, Mutchy was playing “FIND ME!” with Lola. Mutchy said that instead of sitting quietly and doing some electronic nonsense (see, I told you she doesn’t want to help Lola with her blog!) Mutchy and Lola were playing a really fun game and Lola was getting a lot of exercise and attention. Mom did bring to Mutchy’s attention that I’m learning technical and computer skills that will last me a lifetime and they were just playing a game that lasted maybe an hour … but I guess that’s what Mutchy and Lola choose to do so that’s just fine (for them.)

Later in the day, Mutchy sent mom some pictures she had taken of Lola when she just a baby and mom says it looks like they really do love Lola a lot since she had a Pinky Inky and a Bobo to play with. ( I think if Lola had been taken along to the store and given a choice of what she wants to play with she would have chosen a ‘roo … but since she wasn’t given that chance, she is happy with what she got.)

So I’m recanting my rant of last night when I made that accusation about Mutchy not loving Lola … obviously she DOES love her a lot (in her own way) … so … there’s my apology … grudging as it is.

Ok, off to get my reward chicken stick!

disclaimer: this blog was barked under duress as mom was withholding chicken sticks until
I complied with her wishes to bark this apology.

When we woke up this morning it was sort of cold in the house. It felt almost like it was winter already although mom says it’s not. Mom had put an extra blanket on the bed last night so we were really really warm all night and when that pesky alarm clock rang and we stuck our little heads out, it felt real cold. We don’t like cold.

Mom got up and turned some little round thing on the wall and pretty soon it started to feel warmer in the house so that was good.  Mattie and I went outside to go potty and hurried right back in the house! Then we ran up the stairs as fast as we could to get back into bed before mom got up there to ruin our blanket burrowing. We didn’t want to lay on top of the bed all day, we wanted to be under the covers so we would be warm and not cold!

Mom asked us if we wanted a little lunch before she went to that “icky job” and Mattie, as usual, jumped up and went downstairs to eat. I just stayed in bed, under the covers, and decided I wasn’t going to take any chances on mom going back upstairs while we were eating and fixing the blankets so we couldn’t crawl under them! I knew mom would give me a chicken stick before she left anyway so I wouldn’t get too hungry!

When mom got home, we went for a nice little walk. It’s really fun to zoom around in the leaves and track those silly squirrels and silly rabbits. I think there might have even been a silly fox in the field where we walk because I smelled some smells that weren’t from a silly squirrel or a silly rabbit. I wish I could have seen that silly fox! I know I would have been able to catch him and tear him apart!

Mom told me some sad news today. She said that Mutchy asked Lola if Lola wanted to do a blog bark and Lola said no! I couldn’t even believe my long ears. Why wouldn’t she want to have a blog bark like I do? We could have had so much fun doing our barks. I’m very very disappointed. Actually I think that Mutchy just doesn’t want to take the time to help Lola with her blog bark so I’m just going to blame Mutchy! I know it’s all her fault because Doxies love attention and they love blog barks! I’m SO glad my mom loves me more than Mutchy loves Lola.

I’m just going to drown my sorrows in a chicken stick. I’ll try to bark again soon when I get my spirits up again!

19 Oct 2008 Sunday Bark
 |  Category: barks  |  Tags: , , ,  | 4 Comments

I just jumped up on mom’s lap and sort of snuggled under my blanket so I can be all toasty warm and be close enough to tell her what I want to say on my Sunday blog bark.

It was a very nice weekend for Mattie and me. We got to go outside lots of times and run through the leaves. There was a silly squirrel sitting in the leaves this morning and when it saw us, it ran up the tree, but then it ran right down again! I was running and running but mom always has that pesky harness and leash on me so it’s like I’m running in slow motion and I just couldn’t get to the tree in time! The silly squirrel ran across the leaves and under the fence so we couldn’t get him! Mattie and I barked like crazy but the silly squirrel stayed on the other side of the fence so we didn’t get to catch a silly squirrel this weekend either. I was so sure that we’d get one!

Mom went to some place she called “Trader Joe’s” yesterday — of course we didn’t get to go along and had to stay home in jail — but we got a chicken stick before she left!  When mom came home, she’d brought us a treat from Trader Joe’s. It’s a beef flavored stick sort of like chicken sticks but softer and at first I didn’t think I liked it but then I saw Mattie eating hers and when she was done, she looked like she wanted to take mine too so I ate it in a hurry! I decided I did like it but it’s still not as good as a chicken stick.

So that was our weekend. I know mom has to go that “icky job” again tomorrow and Mattie and I will have to stay in jail all day. Actually jail isn’t as bad as it sounds because we just stay in mom’s bedroom all day and we sleep in mom’s bed. We’ve figured out that after mom lets us in from our morning walk and we run up the steps as fast as we can and jump on the bed, then mom doesn’t make her bed and we can snuggle under the covers whenever we want. If we don’t get up there fast enough, mom makes the bed and then I have to crawl under the pillows to sleep. Mattie crawls under a little blanket mom leaves there for her … and that’s ok too but we really like to burrow under ALL the blankets!

I hope all my friends have a great week. Check out my friend Mackenzie’s blog too. The link to her blog is on the upper left side of this page. It’s fun to have friends that have blogs! I hope Mutchy lets Lola have a blog. I’m pretty sure she will because she loves Lola just like mom loves me and Mutchy will want Lola to have fun with her blog bark too!

Chicken stick time! I’m outta here!

16 Oct 2008 Apology Bark
 |  Category: barks  |  Tags: , ,  | Leave a Comment

Mom came home tonight and told me that I’ve been very lazy … I haven’t barked in my blog for three days … that’s 21 days in dog time so it’s a very long time. I need to apologize (and can you even imagine a Doxie apologizing for anything … ever?) for not keeping up-to-date on my blog bark. Mom said she’s going to take it down if I don’t want to bark in it anymore so I’m going to try to do better. She even said that one of her coworkers, Mutchy, was distraught that I’d hadn’t barked lately. I’m sorry, Mutchy. I remember that day when mom brought me up to the office and you were so nice to me and held me for awhile … so, Mutchy, this bark’s for you!

This week has gone by very quickly and when I was in the mood to bark, then mom was doing something else on the computer or doing her own blog on www.happilyunbridled.com. Mom was sad that Big Brown who won the Kentucky Derby in May and was going to run in the biggest horse race in the US on October 25, hurt his foot so he’s been retired and will not race anymore. So I’m thinkin’ it’s really mom’s fault that I didn’t bark in this blog. Yes, that’s it. That’s the reason. It’s all her fault. (I used Hurley’s logic to come to that last conclusion.)

Mattie, Pouncer, and I had a very nice quiet week. We’ve still been going out for nice little walks at night and since mom will be home tomorrow, we’ll probably get to go for two or even three walks. The silly squirrels and silly rabbits are running around like crazy and I just know I’m going to catch one sometime this weekend! Mom’s telling us about a nice big park that she’s going to take us to next spring and summer and I can’t wait. Mutchy is going to be there with her little wiener, Lola, and I know we’ll all be good friends!

Well, now that I’ve barked again, I think mom will even give me an extra chicken stick. She said I wouldn’t get one until I told her what I wanted to bark about but I think this is a nice bark for my blog tonight and if I promise to bark (just on my blog bark though, sometimes mom tells me to be quiet when I bark too much in real life) more often. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a chicken stick now and another one when I go to bed! I know just how to get mom to do what I want … it’s good to be in charge of the house!

Ok, Mutchy, I hope you enjoyed this bark in your honor. I’ll bark again soon!
